Why does it not have little needles on the roller in any of the pictures? Is it just a smooth roller or does it actually have 1.5 mm needles?

There are no needles. It is more for icing areas of your body. I use it for my forehead when I have a migraine and have used it after cosmetic fillers to help reduce swelling. I love it but if you're wanting something with needles this is not the right product

Ours doesn't squeak. Is the roller seated all the way? Perhaps you could try a tiny bit of vegetable oil or cooking spray as a lubricant.

How long in freezer to get cold & how long will it stay cold in 86+F with 90% humidity?

It takes about 2 hours to really get cold. I'm a medical Esthetician and I use it for cooling the skin after a peel and laser facial. It has very good cooling to the skin. I highly recommend. I've never used it in 86*F degrees however, just being In a 72*F degree treatment room that gets up to 78 degrees from running laser, the roller stays cold and cooling to the face.
